To my friends at Target. Thank you so very much for your nice words, cards, and gifts when I retired. Even though today is my "normal Wednesday off" I feel that someting is not "business as usual". And it will be worse in the days and weeks to come, before being a retiree becomes the normal state.

 As a normal Wednesday off, I have walked the dogs. It was so pleasant weather today. The dogs could stay out in their kennel. Prevously it has been too hot and humid for them to stay out there, but today it was perfect. I have also begun to clean up around the house. There are golden rods and buckthorn that has taken over more and more ground too close to the house, that I need to get rid of. Landscaping is only one of my projcects in the coming weeks. There are lots of windows to wash, old storage boxes to go through and so on. So I will be kept out of mischief, even though it is not going to be under Target's supervision.

 I think I stop here for now, and see if anybody will pick up on this blogg. If so I will continue.

Hallo Sven, I wish you good luck as a retiree and hope that you will adapt to the new sort of life. I do not know if your wife still has to follow a sort of schedule.

It is said that a task occupies the time that is av available. There is a risk or tendency for retired people to get the feeling that they are more busy than ever. Man is his own "slave driver".

Hi, Sven. Thanks for writing an entry in English!
You are officially missed at Target as of today (Friday). Wednesday was your regularly scheduled day off and Thursday was your annual day at the fair. Today you should be here and are not.

I think I may have to bring in donuts next Thursday in your honor. That was one of the many kind things you did for your team!

Hope you enjoyed the fair and that Chris is getting a chance to do so today.

Sven,
It was great to read your blog! We missed you last week at work - it's not the same walking down the row with your empty cube.

I would think the new retiree life will take hold of you quickly and you will really enjoy all the time to spend with Chris and the animals.

Hope you had a great day at the fair on Thursday! I saw on the news that they set a new record for attendance this year.

Looking forward to reading your blog in the future.
