I fredags kväll märkte vi att vår katt Fritjof blödde i munnen. Chris torkade bort blodet och såg att det var problem med tandköttet. Vi kunde inte göra mycket åt det på kvällen, men då Fritjof vägrade äta i lördags morse och blödandet fortsatte ringde Chris till vår veterinärklinink för råd. De hade ingen mottagningstid ledig på morgonen. De har bara öppet till lunch på lördagar, men de ville vi skulle komma in med honom och lämna honom där under förmiddagen, så skulle de undersöka honom mellan några andra patienter.

Kvart i tolv åkte jag dit igen för att hämta Fritjof. Läkaren som undersökt honom förklarade för mig att de kunde inte klart konstatera problemet eftersom Fritjof hade värk och inte lät dem undersöka honom noga. Fritjof hade fått en antibiotika spruta och en smärtstillande spruta. Vad jag ville ha sagt med det här är att vi tycker oss ha märkt att de djurläkare vi har haft att göra med är mycket månare om sina patienter än de läkare vi har haft att göra med beträffande vår egen hälsa. Ingen av dem har ringt hem till oss på sin egen tid, allra minst på en söndag, och kollat hur vi mådde efter ett besök hos dem. Vi är mycket nöjda med de veterinärer vi har att göra med och hoppas att Fritjofs problem kommer att gå över även denna gång.

Friday night we noticed that our cat Fritjof was bleeding from the mouth. Chris wiped off the blood and saw that there was problem with his lower gums. We could not do much about it as it was late in the evening, but as Fritjof refused to eat anything Saturday morning and the bleeding continued, Chris called our veterinary clinic they had no opening in the morning. The clinic is only open until lunch on Saturdays, but we were advised to drop him of and they would examine him between some other patients.

A quarter to twelve I went to the clinic again to pick up Fritjof. The doctor who had examined him explained to me that they could not clearly pinpoint the problem as Fritjof was in pain and did not let them give him a thoroughly examination. Fritjof had been given an injection of antibiotics and a pain killer injection. I was given additional syringes filled with pain killer to take home and give Fritjof twice a day and then come back with him in a week.

Sunday Fritjof was much perkier and walked around and eat his food eagerly. Noontime Sunday the doctor called to check how Fritjof was doing. She was happy to hear what we told her and advised us to continue giving the painkiller and check back in a few days. We were also to call her if we saw any changes in him.

What I wanted to say with this is that we have noticed that the veterinary doctors we have dealt with are much more concerned over their patients than the doctors we have dealt with regarding our own health. None of them has called us at home on their own time, least of all on a Sunday, and checked how we were doing after a visit at their office. We are very happy with the veterinary doctors we have dealt with and hope that Fritjof's problem will be corrected even this time.
